Characteristics

Perennial sticky erect herb or undershrub 0·6–1·35 m. tall, more rarely a twiner 0·9–1·5 m. long.. Stem pubescent and also with longer glandular-based hairs.. Leaflets 3, oblate or ovate, the laterals oblique, 1·6–8 cm. long, 1·5–7·4 cm. wide, acute or acuminate at the apex, rounded or cordate at the base, pubescent and with scattered longer glandular-based hairs on both surfaces; petiole 1–5·8 cm. long; rhachis 1·1–1·8 cm. long; petiolules 2–3 mm. long; stipules ovate-triangular, 1–1·2 cm. long, 2·5–6 mm. wide, veined, hairy.. Inflorescences fairly dense, axillary and terminal; rhachis 4·5–18 cm. long; peduncle 0·5–7 cm. long; pedicels 1 mm. long; bracts deciduous, ovate-lanceolate, 5–7 mm. long, 1·8–2·5 mm. wide, pubescent.. Calyx pubescent and glandular; tube 2–3 mm. long; lowest lobe longest and conspicuously wider than the rest, elliptic-lanceolate, 6–11 mm. long, 3–4 mm. wide; lateral lobes lanceolate, 3–6 mm. long, 1–2 mm. wide; 2 upper lobes joined for ± half their length.. Standard orange-yellow usually veined with purple, obovate, 0·9–1·1 cm. long, 6 mm. wide, pubescent.. Pods oblong, 2·5–3 cm. long, 8–9 mm. wide, narrowed at the base, aristate, covered with rather, well-spaced long yellow glandular-based hairs and also with short hairs..
