Leaflets 3, pale beneath, 1.1–3.6 × 0.5–2.8 cm, elliptic or elliptic-rhombic, acute at the apex, rounded at the base, appressed puberulous with minute fasciculate or pseudostellate hairs of characteristic appearance, together with dark gland dots on both surfaces; venation raised beneath; petiole 0.8–4.5 cm long; rhachis 1–7 mm long; petiolules 1–1.5 mm long; stipules 4–5 × 0.8 mm, lanceolate.
Calyx densely puberulous and covered with dark gland dots; tube 1.5 mm long; lobes 2.5–4 mm long, lanceolate, the lowest the longest, the upper pair joined only at the base or for ± two-thirds of their length.
Inflorescences axillary; rhachis 3–8 cm long; peduncle 1–4 cm long; pedicels 1.5 mm long; bracts deciduous, 2 × 0.5 mm, lanceolate.
Immature pods c. 14 × 4.5 mm, oblanceolate-oblong, falcate, densely pubescent and with longer hairs and dense dark red glands.
Standard yellow, 8 × 5.5 mm, obovate, puberulous and glandular; wings yellow; keel pale greenish-yellow.
Stems striate, shortly pubescent, the hairs usually fasciculate or pseudostellate.
Perennial climbing or trailing herb 0.3–1 m long from a slender woody rootstock.
Immature seeds ellipsoid, 2 × 1.3 mm with rim aril showing signs of development.
