Plants (2-)5-15 cm. high including the leaves.. Corm depressed-globose, 5-9 mm. in diameter, the tunics membranous, reddish brown.. Leaves 3-5(-7), linear, usually falcate, oval in transverse section with 4 narrow longitudinal grooves, 1-2 mm. wide, the midrib evidently without a central hyaline ridge.. Flowering stems 1-2 per plant, ± erect at anthesis, soon curving outward, sharply so in fruit, 2-6 cm. long, 1-2 mm. in diameter (occasionally the stem reaching only to ground-level and then straight); bracts 1.2-1.5 cm. long, the outer green with broad membranous margins at anthesis, the inner bracts with broad rust-brown membranous to scarious margins or entirely membranous, about as long or slightly shorter than the outer.. Flowers pink to lilac or white, with a yellow to white centre; perianth-tube funnel-shaped, 6.5-7.5 mm. long; tepals lanceolate, erect below, patent in the upper half, 15-20 × 5-6 mm.. Filaments 4-6 mm. long; anthers 4-6 mm. long.. Style reaching to ± the middle of the anthers, the branches not exceeding the anther-apices.. Capsules ovate, 1-1.2 cm. long, usually pendent (erect when pedicel entirely below ground).
