Characteristics

Plants 50-100 mm high. Corm globose, 5-10 mm diam., obliquely rounded below, tunics woody, split into bent, grooved teeth below. Stem subterranean. Leaves 2 to 4, terete, narrowly 4-grooved, ± 1 mm diam. Peduncles 1 or 2, semiterete, recurved and later coiling in fruit; outer bracts submembranous, with broad, brown-flecked membranous margins and tip, 18-22 mm long, inner bracts submembranous with broad, brown-flecked membranous margins. Flowers golden-yellow or pale creamy apricot-coloured with lower 2/3 of tepals and cup deep yellow, outer tepals flushed dull olive-coloured on reverse; perianth tube deeply funnel-shaped, 10-13 mm long, tepals oblanceolate, 23-27 x 7-9 mm. Filaments pilose below, 6-7 mm long, yellow; anthers ± 8 mm long, yellow. Style dividing at or just beyond anthers, branches 3 mm long, deeply divided. Capsules oblong, 10-11 mm long.
