Plants 30-100 mm high. Corm ovoid, 5-12 mm diam., pointed below, tunics woody, split into ± straight teeth converging on basal point. Stem subterranean. Leaves 6 to 10, all evidently basal, filiform, narrowly 4-grooved, ± 0.5 mm diam. Peduncles up to 4, semi-terete, recurving in fruit; outer bracts pale and membranous or subherbaceous in upper half, with broad, brown-flecked membranous margins and apex, 10-14 mm long, inner bracts pale and membranous, with broad, brown-flecked membranous margins. Flowers golden-yellow with 1 to 3 dark veins in throat, outer tepals blotched or striped brownish on reverse; perianth tube funnel-shaped, 3-5 mm long; tepals oblanceolate, 15-22 x 4-7 mm. Filaments 5-6 mm long, pilose basally, yellow; anthers 3-4 mm long, yellow. Style dividing below or at anther apices, branches divided. Capsules subglobose, ± 5 mm long.
