Characteristics

Plants 30-40 mm high. Corm subglobose, obliquely flattened toward base with crescent-shaped basal ridge, 5-10 mm diam., tunics woody, split into fine parallel fibrils on basal ridge. Stem subterranean. Leaves 3 to 6, all evidently basal, narrowly 4-grooved, ± 0.5 mm diam., ciliate on rib margins. Peduncles up to 4, hemiterete; outer bract submembranous or green with broad, colourless membranous margins widening above into prominent, brown-flecked membranous apex, 10-15 mm long, ribbed above (5 or 6 veins/mm), inner bracts submembranous or with broad, brown-flecked membranous margins. Flowers ± salver-shaped, pale canary-yellow with orange throat, tepals with median brown streak near base, outer tepals streaked reddish brown on reverse; perianth tube subcylindric, widening slightly from base to apex, 13-14 mm long; tepals elliptic, 9-10 x 2.0-2.5 mm. Filaments inserted near top of tube ± 1 mm below mouth, shortly decurrent, glabrous, 1.5-3.0 mm long; anthers 3-4 mm long, yellow. Style dividing opposite middle of anthers, branches ± 1 mm long, divided for ± halfway.
