Peduncles up to 3, up to 50 mm long, semiterete, ciliolate along angles, suberect in fruit; outer bracts green with narrow membranous margins, 12-25 mm long, finely striate (5 or 6 veins/mm), inner bracts with broad, membranous margins brown-flecked along edge. Flowers pale lavender or lilac with darker veins or small blotch at base around cream-coloured cup marked with yellow at base, outer tepals glossy plum-coloured or wine-red on reverse, inner tepals pale lilac; perianth tube funnel-shaped, 4-6(-8) mm long; tepals elliptic, 14-28 x 6-10 mm, usually obtuse. Filaments 6-9 mm long, pilose throughout or only basally, cream-coloured; anthers 4-6 mm long, cream-coloured. Style dividing ± at anther apices, branches ± 3 mm long, divided halfway. Capsules subglobose to ellipsoid, 5-15 mm long.
