An annual herb. It grows in or near water. The stems are about 40 cm long. The leaves are 10 cm long by 5 cm wide. They are divided and lobes often have irregular teeth. The flowers are single and pale yellow. The seeds are 2 in a row and are 0.8 mm across.
Silique up to 12 x 3 mm., shortly pedicellate, pedicel 1.5–2 mm. long, cylindric-ellipsoid, slightly broader at the base, glabrous, persistent style less than 1 mm. long.
