Annual herb with a taproot, nearly glabrous to ± densely covered by fine appressed hairs.. Stems 1-several, prostrate to ascending, and often rather thick and furrowed, 10–50 cm. high, branched.. Basal leaves bipinnate in a rather evanescent rosette; cauline leaves petiolate, pinnatisect to bipinnate, 2–10 cm. long, oblong in outline; leaflets in 3–8 pairs, sessile, up to 1.5 cm. long, elliptic in outline, irregularly incised to almost pinnate; terminal leaflet not larger than laterals.. Racemes terminal and axillary, bracteate, with numerous greenish flowers, in fruit lax, up to ± 30 cm. long; bracts pinnate, 0.5–3 cm. long, concealing the flowers and usually subtending even the ripe siliquae; pedicels ascending, 1–2 mm. long.. Sepals green, narrowly elliptic, 1.7–2.5 mm. long, mostly hairy.. Petals pale yellow, spathulate, ± 1.5 mm. long.. Anthers 0.5–0.7 mm. long.. Ovary ellipsoid, with a very short style and flat stigma.. Siliqua linear to oblong, 5–14 mm. long, 1.3–3 mm. broad; style 0.3–1 mm. long, ± 0.5 mm. broad..
