Characteristics

Leaves decussate on some stems, 3-nate on others, the submerged ones lanceolate (c. 5 × 1·5 mm.), or linear (c. 10 × 0·5 mm.), the aerial ones 3 × 2 mm., broadly ovate, obtuse or rounded at the apex, contracted into a petiole c. 0·5 mm. long, obscurely penninerved.

Stamens 4, opposite the lobes, inserted a little below the middle of the calyx-tube; filaments c. 3 mm. long, exserted.
