Origin: in Champaign, Ill., by Herschel L. Boll. Johnson Everbearing selfed; cross made in 1967. Introd. in 1973. Tree: everbearing, bears continuously from June until freezing weather, by bearing first on year-old canes, then on tips of new laterals produced from base of yearold canes and then new primocanes; highly productive and vigorous, produces up to 16 canes per plant per year, and grows up to 7 ft tall; propagates by tip-layers. Fruit: large, up to 1 inch in diam., hemispheric shape; black; firm; ripens early.
