Cultivation

Origin: in East Malling, Kent, England, by N.H. Grubb, East Malling Res. Sta. Preussen × Malling 23/50; selected in 1932; tested as Malling 33/132 and as seedling E; introd. in 1943. Tree: canes tall, erect; leaves dull, grayish-green. Fruit: size medium; short conic; dark red, dull; drupelets cohere fairly well, varying in number and size; quality good; aroma strong; ripens fairly late; resembles Malling Jewel.
