Cultivation

A raspberry highly resistant to root rot. Origin: in Freising-Weihenstephan, Germany by H. Schimmelpfeng, Inst. of Fruit Growing, Techn. Universitat, from program emphasizing resistance to Phytophthora-incited root rot. Rucanta × Latham; introd. in 1993. Plant variety rights held by CH: Obtecta AG, CH-9315 N eukirch­Egnach, Switzerland and G.H. Herr, Baumschulweg 19-25, D-53340 Meckenheim, Germany. Tree: moderate vigor; very strong canes with prominent spines and compact laterals. Highly resistant to root rot. Fruit: medium size; medium firm; bright red; round to conic; mid-to late season; good flavor.
