Cultivation

Origin: in Vineland, Ontario, Canada, by Ontario Dept. Agr., Hort. Res. Inst. Cuthbert × Marlboro; cross made in 1914; selected in 1918; introd. in 1924. Tree: moderately productive; canes relatively smooth; strong; very tall; winter hardy. Susceptible to powdery mildew; very susceptible to both orange and late yellow rust. Fruit: medium to small; bright red; fairly soft; ripens midseason.
