Leaves imparipinnate (usually 2-jugate) or trifoliolate within the inflorescence; leaflets broadly ovate, ovate-lanceolate, or elliptic, 4–12 × 2.5–6.5 cm., acute, sometimes acuminate, basally shortly cuneate to subcordate; the terminal leaflet larger than the lateral ones or about equal to the basal pair, all serrate or biserrate, the teeth rather shallow but acute, commonly 1.5 mm. deep, sparsely pubescent to glabrous above, white-or grey-tomentose varying to green and glabrous beneath (except usually for pilose midrib and nerves); terminal petiolule 1–2.5 cm. long; lateral petiolules not usually exceeding 1 cm. long; nervature prominent below..
