Characteristics

Perennial, dwarf shrublet, up to 0.3 m high, stems woody, densely branched. Leaves forming a connate sheath below node, triquetrous, glaucous, keel with 2 teeth, epidermis with low papillae, apex recurved. Flowers solitary, deep purplish pink. Flowering time Sept.-Jan. Capsules woody, 5-locular closing bodies present, valve wings absent.

R. parvifoliae valde affinis sed foliis saepissime sine dente carinali, linea impressa vaginali subnulla (in R. parvifolia 3-4 mm. longa), sepal is stigmatibusque 6 distinguitur. Folia in cultis ad 4 cm. longa, ad 4 mm. diam., lateribus valde convexis.
