Characteristics

Frutex erectus ad 30 cm altus internodiis cinerescentibus; foliis trigonis mueronatis, ad 18 mm longis. Inflorescentia spinescens per alabastras abortivas distales capsulisque in positionibus centralibus, ibique epithetum. Flos stigmatibus brevibus aggregatis ad 2.5 mm longis. Capsula alis valvarum angustis. Erect shrubs with whitish-grey internodes and longish leaves, epidermis with convex to papillate cells and elevations above the subhypodermal tannin idioblasts, stomata in the valleys. Inflorescences richly spinescent, fruits on lower orders of dichasium, purely spiny inflorescences not rare. Flowers about 20 mm in diameter, with about 30 petals, 10-15 filamentous staminodes and 50-60 stamens, the stigmata short and aggregate. Capsules with narrow valve wings and small closing bodies.
