Characteristics

Loosely branched shrub, ± 500 mm tall, internodes red to maroon. Leaves roundish, blunt apically, epidermis smooth. Flowers in terminal and lateral cymes, bracteoles above middle of pedicels, petals 1 mm broad, pink, filamentous staminodes and filaments pink. Sept.-Oct. Fruit 5-locular, top elevated 1.5 mm.
