Characteristics

Perennial, dwarf shrublet, up to 0.6 m high, stems decumbent, forming large low clumps. Leaves triquetrous, shortly united into a sheath around stem, glaucous, apex recurved with 1-few teeth on margins and keel. Flowers solitary, deep to pale pink. Flowering time Apr.-Aug. Capsules woody, 5-locular, covering membranes complete, closing bodies small, valve wings absent.
