Tree or liana characterized by large, coriaceous leaves, a congested, many times branched, paniculate inflorescence with minute reddish flowers, petals tuberculate within, the conical disk produced into 3 teeth at the top and rounded fruits, ca. 5 cm diam. with light brown, smooth pericarp.
