Leaves opposite, subopposite or alternate, petiolate; petiole 3–6(–7) mm. long; blade coriaceous, usually dull greyish green above, yellowish green beneath, usually narrowly to broadly elliptic, sometimes obovate, oblanceolate or oblong, (5.5–)7–17.5 cm. long (2–)2.5–6.3(–7.5) cm. wide, bluntly acuminate or less frequently acute, cuneate or rarely cordate at the base; veins very prominent beneath, often impressed above; margin serrate, sometimes only shallowly so..
