Leaves with blade broadly triangular, back convex, 1 mm long, margins indistinct light-coloured, thick, mostly glabrous or with dense, short, appressed silky hairs. Flowers: solitary, in scattered, spicate inflorescences; flowering shoots terminate in a bud above flowers; bracteoles scale-like, shorter than perianth, rounded, blunt, keeled, with membranous margin, glabrous or with appressed silky hairs, fleshy-cartilaginous; perianth segments narrowly oblong-ovate, middle portion narrow, triangular, margins broad, membranous, base area of flower a pentagon, with light-coloured, swollen margins; Mar., Apr.
