Perennial herb, 0.25-0.60(-0.80) m high, rhizomatous. Stems decumbent; pilose to tomentose. Leaves petiolate and sessile, crowded; blade elliptic to obovate, 30-100 x 8-48 mm, margins entire to runcinate, sparsely to freely gland dotted. Flowers: in verticils, upper lip of calyx 2-or 3-toothed, spreading, fruiting calyces 7-13 mm long; corolla 14-20 mm long, upper lip of corolla straight; pale blue or mauve to purple, rarely white; Oct.-Feb., May.
