Small epiphyte usually consisting of a single growth with stiffly spreading leaves. Stems 30–80 mm long, unbranched or sparsely branched. Leaves 2–8 per stem, 80–150 × 20–35 mm, dark green, thin-textured but stiff, margins entire or slightly wavy. Racemes 90–140 mm long, 2–12-flowered. Flowers 18–22 × 20–25 mm, bright green to yellowish green. Sepals and petals widely spreading, base narrowed. Dorsal sepal 10–15 × 3.5–4.5 mm. Lateral sepals 10–15 × 3–4 mm. Petals 8–12 × 3–4 mm. Labellum 6–8 × 4–5 mm, greenish cream to green with red-brown bars and markings; lateral lobes c. 4 × 2 mm, apex curved; midlobe with short tooth 0.2–0.4 mm long.
Widespread and common; found growing in shady, humid habitats in or close to rainforest and streams, often on the mossy bark of small trees and stems of vines, particularly Lawyer Canes (Calamus species); also occurs on shady rocks, these plants having wider, thicker and tougher leaves than normal.
