Characteristics

Plants robust, with stout stems (340-) 370-710 (-800) mm tall, arising from apically bifid tubers; leaves 2-4, thick and fleshy, lowest 2 partly pressed onto the ground, with gradual transition to the sheaths above. Inflorescences dense, stout, (14-) 19-38 (-45)-flowered; bracts partly deflexed, minutely ciliate, 1.4-2.3 times the length of the 11-18 mm long ovary. Flowers pale pink to rose, very rarely white. Sepals and petals almost free, recurved to circinnate in their distal V3; meªdian sepal lanceolate-oblong, 13-18 mm long; latªeral sepals narrower; petals elliptic. Lip spurs 14-20 mm long. Pollinia with lanceolate viscidia; stigma flap narrowly oblong, 5-8 mm long; rosªtellum oblong, 5-6 mm long, almost unlobed.
