Characteristics

Plants stiffly erect, stems stout, (180-) 230-480 (-770) mm tall; leaves 2-4, erect to spreading, purple-spotted towards the sheathing leaf bases, stiffly coriaceous, elliptic to ovate, acute, 30-150 mm long. Inflorescences (4-) 7-20 (-42)-flowered; bracts deflexed, 7-16 mm broad, 1.7-3.3 times the length of the 10-14 mm long ovary. Flowers bright yellow to bright orange, lip often tinged with red. Sepals and petals fused in the basal 'At-'/3, 7-13 mm long, petals narrower. Lip spurs slender, 9-12 mm long. Viscidia large and nearly semi-circular; stigma flap erect to partly hooded over the rostellum, very broadly oblong-truncate, c. 2 mm long; rostellum c. 4 mm long, weakly 3-lobed, with an apical tooth.
