Characteristics

Plants (140-) 150-250 (-500) mm tall; leaves 1-3, spreading near the ground but not adpressed to it, longest lamina ovate to broadly ovate, obtuse, 20-80 mm long, leaf undersides often purple. Inflorescences rather dense, (6-) 12-20 (-40)-flowered; bracts more than 2x the length of the 7-12 mm long ovary, strongly deflexed, the margins glabrous. Flowers dull yellowish green, usually tinged dark purple. Sepals free almost to their bases, strongly recurving, 6-8 mm long. Petals with basal 2h forming a loose tube with the sides of the lip to about half way along its oval aperture, distal third abruptly falcate, crenulate, obtuse. Lip spurs slender, 15-18 mm long. Stigma flap narrowly oblong, truncate, 4 mm long; rostellum unlobed with rounded apical tooth.
