Characteristics

Plants normally rosette-like on the ground, stems 10-30 mm tall; leaves 3-5, lowest ovate-acute, spreading, 20-55 mm long, upper bract-like. Inflorescences dense, with (1-) 2-4 (-7) relatively large flowers; bracts 3-8 times the length of the 5-10 mm long ovary. Flowers dull green outside, lip inside dull greenish-yellow marked with transªverse bars of dark maroon. Sepals and petals fused in the basal 3/4 to 2/3, forming a broadly obovate lamina 8-11 mm long; free part of the median sepal deltoid, lateral sepals strongly falcate. Lip spurs saccate, dorsiventrally compressed, 2-3 mm long. Pollinia with globose viscidia; stigma flap narrowly oblong, obtuse to emarginate, 3-4 mm long; rostellum with 2 prominent forward-projecting lateral arms.
