Characteristics

Plants 250-400 mm tall; leaves 2, basal, erect or spreading, developing after flowering next to the stem; stem almost entirely covered by sheaths. Inflorescences dense, 10-25-flowered; bracts lanceolate-acute, strongly deflexed, lower ones longer than the flowers, upper ones shorter. Flowers deep pink to carmine-red. Sepals and petals free and recurved, similar, 13 mm long; median sepal slightly broader; lateral sepals oblong-ligulate. Lip galeate; flap quadrate-obtuse, papillose within, margins serrulate; spurs filiform and deflexed, 2x as long as the ovary. Stigma flap cu-neate-quadrate, slightly bilobed, as long as rostellum.
