Leaves altogether 5–7, the lowest 1–2 short, sheathing, subacute, the middle 2 ± spreading, elliptical to elliptical-lanceolate, acute, up to 4–16 cm. long and 2–5 cm. broad, the upper 2–3 distant, lanceolate, adpressed to the stem, the largest 3–8 cm. long and 8–14 mm. broad.. Inflorescence narrowly cylindrical, 5–18(–22) cm. long, 1.5–2 cm. in diameter, rather closely 9-to many-flowered; bracts reflexed, lanceolate, acute, 8–23(–28) mm. long..
