Shrub to 60 cm high, tomentose, with some long, stiff hairs; stems brittle. Leaves sessile, narrowly oblong to oblanceolate, entire; lamina 12-85 mm long, 4-15 mm wide; axillary hairs softly felted. Flowers in condensed, axillary spikes to 10 cm long; bracts ovate, 4-6.5 mm long, concave; bracteoles ovate, 2.5-4 mm long. Sepals rim-like, undulate, ciliate, to 0.5 mm long. Corolla 9-11 mm long, pubescent outside, bearded inside, white with brownish veins; barbulae simple, hair-like; wings to 0.5 mm wide. Ovary 1-locular except basally; indusium 1-1.5 mm long, sparsely weakly hairy above. Fruit obovoid, 2-4 mm long, rugose, pubescent, usually 1-seeded.
