Characteristics

Shrubby plant, probably to 60 cm tall, hispid, glabrescent at base. Leaves sessile, linear-oblanceolate, entire, thick; lamina to 30 mm long, to 2 mm wide. Flowers in terminal spikes to 25 mm long; bracts lanceolate, to 8 mm long, with long bristles marginally; bracteoles resembling bracts but smaller. Sepals deltoid, c. 1 mm long, connate basally. Corolla c. 9 mm long, with long, stiff, brownish hairs outside, pubescent inside on lobes and in throat, colour unknown; barbulae few, papillate apically; wings c. 1.5 mm wide. Ovary densely covered with long, white hairs, 2-locular; indusium c. 1 mm long, with a few scattered hairs on surface. Fruit not seen.
