Characteristics

Prostrate, stoloniferous herb, often forming mats, with not appressed hairs; stolons to 30 cm long, rooting at nodes. Leaves sessile, ovate to oblong, usually entire; lamina 6-50 mm long, 2-15 mm wide. Flowers in racemes mostly to 10 cm long; bracts leafy; peduncle to 8 mm long; bracteoles elliptic to oblong, 4-6 mm long, entire or dentate. Sepals minute or obsolete. Corolla 5-8 mm long, with not appressed hairs outside, sparsely pubescent inside, white or blue sometimes yellowish in throat; barbulae simple; wings to 1 mm wide, not striate. Indusium to 2 mm wide, with some stiff hairs above and lips ±glabrous. Fruit obovoid, to 2.5 mm long, rugose, pubescent, often 1-seeded.
