Characteristics

Erect shrub to 50 cm tall, ±hispid, with simple hairs and minute, glandular hairs. Leaves narrowly elliptic to oblanceolate, slightly recurved, entire or with small teeth; lamina mostly 3-4.5 cm long, to 10 mm wide. Flowers in condensed or elongate, axillary spikes to 5 cm long; bracts leaf-like but smaller; bracteoles lanceolate, c. 5 mm long. Sepals broadly ovate, c. 0.3 mm long, free. Corolla 7-10 mm long, with coarse, simple hairs outside and scattered hairs inside, white(?); barbulae simple; wings c. 0.3 mm wide. Ovary 1-locular, hairy; indusium with tuft of irregular hairs basally. Fruit not seen.
