Subshrub to 50 cm tall, tomentose, with simple and glandular hairs. Leaves sessile, narrowly elliptic to oblanceolate, entire; lamina 33-65 mm long, 3-8 mm wide; axillary hairs conspicuous, silky. Flowers in spike-like, axillary thyrses to 20 cm long; bracts leaf-like but smaller; bracteoles lanceolate, 4-6 mm long. Sepals rim-like, minute, sinuate, hairy. Corolla 5-6 mm long, with appressed hairs outside, pubescent inside, white; barbulae simple, hair-like; wings to 0.5 mm wide. Ovary 1-locular except basally; indusium 0.5-1 mm diam., base with sparse, short hairs. Fruit cylindrical, 3 mm long, pubescent, rugose, ribbed, usually 1-seeded.
