Characteristics

Trees, to 15 m tall, andromonoecious. Petiole 35-45 cm; petiolules 3-9 cm; leaflets oblong to elliptic or slightly ovate, (7-)11-26 × 5-13 cm, leathery, abaxially ferruginous or brownish stellate pubescent, later subglabrous, adaxially glabrous, secondary veins 10-16 pairs, raised abaxially, tertiary veins raised abaxially, base obtuse or subrounded, margin entire or with few sparse teeth apically, apex acuminate. Inflorescence a terminal panicle of umbels, densely ferruginous to light brown stellate, glabrescent; primary axis 15-35 cm; secondary axes to 20 cm, shorter apically, with a terminal umbel of bisexual flowers and several to many lateral umbels of male flowers; peduncles of male flowers to 2 cm; pedicels 7-15 mm (shorter in male flowers). Calyx subentire. Ovary 5-carpellate; styles 5, united only at base, erect in flower. Fruit globose, ca. 7 mm in diam.; styles persistent, recurved. Fl. Dec-Jan, Mar, fr. Apr.
