Characteristics

Stems 9-22 cm tall, often branched. Leaves verticillate or irregularly arranged; lamina 34-60 x 2.5-7 mm, linear; petiole 2-3.5 mm long. Inflorescences 3-7 per stem, 5-8-flowered; peduncles 8-33 mm long; pedicels 3-8 mm long. Calyx segments 2-3 x 0.75-1 mm. Corolla lobes 3.5-5 x 2-3 mm, green or brown; dorsal surface glabrous or sparsely pilose, ventral surface glabrous or pubescent at base, margin glabrous. Corona 2-2.5 mm long, white; each lobe oblong to narrowly ovate in dorsal view, with bifid apex, bearing an indexed ventral appendage bifid at apex. Anthers with appendages 0.5 x 0.75-1 mm; corpusculum 0.15-0.27 mm long; pollinium 0.55-0.76 mm long. Gynostegium white. Fruit 4.5-5.6 cm long; seed 3 mm long, coma 24 mm long.
