Characteristics

Stems 10-15 cm tall, branched only at the base. Leaves opposite and decussate; lamina 28-50 x 6-13 mm, linear, elliptic or lanceolate; petiole 2-4 mm long. Inflorescences 2-3 per stem, c. 6-flowered, the flowers of all the umbels on a stem forming a single head scarcely exceeding the leaves; peduncles 11-32 mm long; pedicels 5-10 mm long. Flowers white (details not known). Calyx segments c. 4 x 1-25 mm. Corolla lobes c. 6 x 3 mm, flat; dorsal surface pilose in upper half, ventral surface densely pubescent, margin ciliate. Corona lobes c. 2.5 mm long, slightly exceeding the gynostegium; each lobe ovate-triangular in dorsal view with bifid apex and cordate base, erect, the ventral side with two prominent longitudinal ridges produced at apex into two short teeth curving over the gynostegium. Anthers with appendages 1 mm long, triangular, appressed against the gynostegial head; corpusculum 0.37 mm long, not flanged; pollinium attachment median; pollinia 0.55-0.57 mm long, ellipsoid with apical crest, the germination zone forming the crest and extending from apex of pollinium along 1/3 of its outer edge. Fruit unknown.
