Bulb to 5 cm diam.; outer tunics glabrous. Leaves 10-13, acute, 30-40 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, shortly ciliate. Scape to 40 cm long. Inflorescence racemose, with up to 150 flowers; bracts ovate, c. 1.5 mm long; pedicels to 40 mm long, spreading. Perianth 5-7 mm long, blue-violet. Staminal filaments narrowly triangular.
