Characteristics

Culms to 50 cm or more high. Leaves: pseudopetiole to 40 mm long; blade lamina linear, 10–15 cm long (30–40 cm long in upper portion of plant), (4–) 6.4–10 mm wide, glabrous with margins scabrous. Panicles to 10 cm long, with lower branches c. 8 cm long and upper branches 4–6 cm long, rachises glabrous. Male spikelets: lemma c. 2 mm long; anthers 1.5–2 mm long. Female spikelets 3–4 mm long; lemma to 4.4 (–5) mm long. See also Zich et al. (2020).
