Characteristics

Erect, annual herb, 0.06-0.30 m high; slender, unbranched below. Leaves 7-18 x 4-12 mm, ovate-cordate to ovate-lanceolate, obtuse or acute. Flowers in 1-many-flowered, compact or lax cymes, bracteate. Calyx: segments 4, oblanceolate to linear-oblong, margins entire or ± erose, sides hyaline, keeled or winged. Corolla yellow to white; tube 2.50-4.25 mm long, shorter than lobes. Stamens inserted in corolla sinuses; anthers with apical glands. Styles with swelling at or below middle; stigma 2-lobed. Fruit a capsule.
