Corolla tube up to 5 mm. long, cylindric, inflated at level of anthers and puberulent, verrucose externally; lobes 1.7 (3) mm. long, broadly ovate, acute.
Ovary 2.5–5 x 2–3 mm., ellipsoid; style 1.5 mm. long, filiform; stigma 0.7–0.8 mm. long, papillate, narrowly ellipsoid.
Flowers white, ivory, lemon-yellow to primrose-yellow, solitary, terminal, pedicellate; pedicels 3–15 cm. long.
Leaves scattered, 3.5 x 0.7–1.5 mm., linear or linear-lanceolate, acute at the apex.
Stems slender, filiform, unbranched or rarely branched, 4-ridged.
Seeds 0.1–0.15 mm. in diam., cubical; testa faveolate.
Calyx segments 5, 3–4 mm. long, lanceolate, acuminate.
Capsule 3.5–5.5 x 3–4 mm., ellipsoid.
Erect annual herb up to 35 cm. tall.
