Characteristics

Branched herb or subshrub with long more or less prostrate shoots radiating from a woody rootstock about 4 cm. across; branchlets slender, adpressedly pubescent.. Leaves sessile, linear to narrowly linear, lanceolate or linear-oblong, 0.5–1.7 cm. long, 1–3 mm. wide, sparsely adpressed pilose.. Flowers axillary and solitary; pedicels 1–2 mm. long.. Sepals elliptic, about 3 mm. long and up to 1.5 mm. wide, acute and reflexed at the apex, forming a tubular calyx with reflexed teeth in flower but more spreading in fruit, ± adpressedly pilose.. Corolla white, about 5 mm. long, ± pubescent.. Capsule straw-coloured, subglobose with pointed apex, glabrous save for tufts of hairs at the apex, 3.5 mm. in diam.. Seeds trigonous-globose, black, about 2 mm. long.
