Woody, very intricately branched subshrub up to 0.6 m. tall with many erect or spreading stems up to 5 mm. in diameter; branchlets slender, grey, at first pubescent, later glabrescent.. Leaf-blade oblong-elliptic, oblanceolate or linear-oblong, 4–14(–15) mm. long, 1–5(–7.5) mm. wide, obtuse and mucronulate at the apex, rounded or cuneate at the base, fairly densely (but not velvety) covered with adpressed hairs particularly when young, rarely glabrescent; petiole very short, about 1 mm. long.. Flowers usually solitary or in 1–3-flowered cymes, axillary, subsessile or pedicels and peduncles together not exceeding 2.5 mm.. Sepals 5–9 mm. long; apical portion foliaceous, elliptic-oblong, often unequal, 1.5–6.5 mm. long, 1–3 mm. wide, adpressed pilose; basal part convex, densely long-pilose with ± spreading hairs..
