Characteristics

Perennial, coarse herb, up to 1.5 m high; stems ± erect, simple or somewhat laxly branched above; patent-or recurved-pubescent. Leaves: main ones up to 75 x 20 mm, elliptic, larger ones with petioles, entire or with minute teeth, pubescent. Flowers in few-flowered, dense racemes, grouped in small, dense, corymbose panicles up to 40 mm in diam., these grouped in a large, lax panicle. Bracts up to 2 mm long, obtuse. Calyx up to 1.8 mm long; lobes acute to obtuse. Corolla white, or somewhat violet. Anthers all well exserted. Flowering time mainly Dec.-May.
