Characteristics

Perennial, dwarf shrublet, up to 0.6 m high, stems upright. Leaves dark green, triquetrous, forming a sheath around stem, apex acuminate, recurved. Flowers solitary, bright pink, rarely deeper pink or white. Flowering time Aug.-Nov. Capsules mostly 7-10-locular, reddish brown, woody, covering membranes complete, expanding keels parallel, diverging at apex, ending in short awns, closing bodies absent.
