Characteristics

Sessile spikelet c. 6 mm long, lanceolate; callus c. 1 mm long, rounded, shortly pilose; inferior glume c. 5.5 mm long, lanceolate, coriaceous, pilose on the back, brown; superior glume slightly longer than the inferior, pilose along the keel, otherwise glabrous on the back, ciliate on the margins; inferior floret empty, the lemma ovate, ciliate on the margins; superior floret bisexual, epaleate, the lemma lobed, ciliate on the margins, awned; awn c. 25 mm long, bigeniculate, glabrous; anthers c. 4 mm long.
