Leaf-lamina 3–7-angled or-lobed, palmately nerved, crenatedentate or crenate or serrate.
Ovary 4–5-locular; ovules numerous; style slender, glabrous, with a 4–5-toothed stigma.
Capsule globose, oblong-ovoid or ellipsoid, 4–5-valved, covered with rigid bristles.
Stamens numerous, outer ones sometimes sterile and moniliform.
Petals 4, oblanceolate, glandless.
Sepals 4, lanceolate, deciduous.
Androgynophore obsolete.
