Taprooted annual 1–3 dm; stems glabrous or nearly so, usually with several branches; lvs lanceolate or ovate to oblong or elliptic, 1–6 cm; cal-lobes narrowly triangular, half to three-fourths as long as the tube, pubescent to the acuminate tip; cor pale yellow to white, 10–16 mm; 2n=34. Native of Europe, rarely intr. in our range.
