Perennial, prostrate herb, up to 0.3 m long; stems radiating from central taproot; subglabrous, or pubescence of a few, long, slender, spreading hairs or sparse to fairly densely short-glandular. Leaves subsessile or shortly petiolate, broadly ovate-deltoid to suborbicular, 8-15 x 6-12 mm, base broadly cordate, apex obtuse to rounded, margins crenate; subglabrous to thinly appressed-pubescent or glandular-puberulous. Inflorescence lax, of 1-5 verticils; verticillasters 2-flowered; bracts elliptical, smaller than calyx. Flowers purple, pink or white. Calyx puberulous to hispidulous. Corolla: tube 5-7 mm long; upper lip horizontal; lower lip deflexed. Flowering time Oct.-Mar.
