Perennial herb, 0.3-0.6 m; decumbent to prostrate; stems sparingly branched, subglabrous to scabrid. Leaves petiolate, coriaceous, ovate to ovate-deltoid or deltoid, 12-30 x 8-20 mm, base deeply cordate, apex acute, margins regularly crenate to crenate-dentate; eglandular, sparingly hispid, upper surface with bulbous-based hairs. Inflorescence slender, lax below; verticils 2-6; verticillasters 2-6-flowered; rachis glabrous to retrorse-scabrid. Flowers white. Calyx subglabrous to sparingly hispid. Corolla: tube slightly arcuate; upper lip ascending; lower lip sometimes mauve-spotted, horizontal. Flowering time Aug.-Apr.
Like S. graciliflora but roughly hairy and leaves thicker in texture with bulbous-based hairs on upper surface.
